Prova Flex-Heat is a lightweight uncoupling membrane designed for electric radiant floor heating. This multi-functional floor heating membrane features a deep groove design that can fit multiple heating cable thicknesses, allowing flexible cable spacing and efficient heat distribution. The integrated vapor management and shear stress control design provides anti-fracture protection and uncoupling performance, helping reduce stress transfer from the substrate to the tile assembly and supporting long-term floor durability. The membrane includes a one-ply non-woven fleece backing that bonds securely to the substrate and helps neutralize in-plane movement. This uncoupling layer enhances crack isolation and supports long-term tile performance over approved subfloors. The stud-and-channel cavity structure promotes mechanical bonding between the membrane and thin-set, allowing the tile assembly to move independently from the substrate while maintaining a stable, load-bearing surface. Prova Flex-Heat supports electric floor heating cables up to 0.2 in (5 mm), making it suitable for residential and commercial heated floor installations. The cavity geometry supports even heat transfer while allowing vapor to dissipate beneath the tile assembly. Compatible with ceramic tile, porcelain tile, natural stone, marble, granite, travertine, slate and mosaic tile. When seams are properly treated, the membrane supports waterproof floor assemblies for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, bathtub surrounds and showers. Prova Flex-Heat performs well over concrete, plywood, OSB and cement backer board. The membrane distributes point loads across the tile surface, helping reduce stress on grout joints.
